The Right Here Right Now (RHRN-KE) is a platform of 14 Civil Society Organizations founded in 2016, with an aim of improving the protection, respect and fulfilment of the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of young people. The RHRN SRHR advocacy focuses on freedom from stigma, discrimination and violence; access to comprehensive youth-friendly services; access to information; and creation of space for young people’s voices. The project is currently being implemented in three Kenyan Counties; Kisumu, Nairobi and Mombasa.
RHRN-KE is seeking to hire an intern with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites. The platform is currently expanding its the social
media presence. Candidate needs to have a “do what it takes” attitude with a proven track record in social media. Desired start date February.
Grow online social networks by increasing fan-base and interactions
Monitor and post on blogs, forums, and social networks
Collaborate with RHRN-KE team to ensure a consistent campaign and relative content
Online outreach and promotion using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and more.
Familiarity with social media analytics such as Facebook insights to assess trends and Twitter analytics and keyword analysis
Review data on the performance of social media platforms and adjust plans or strategies to optimize outreach
Performs research to find articles, stories, resources or other content that is relevant photos, video or other content from activities and events.
Should be a creative self-starter who is comfortable with both
taking initiative and working in collaboration
Openness to learning, willingness to try anything, strong communication/writing skills and out of the box thinking to promote the product in a unique and creative way
Experience with basic photo editing and video editing is not necessary but it is a plus!
Familiarity with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, or related field
Six months’ years’ experience in social media/marketing
Below the age of 25
Excellent oral and written communication skills
In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and Google+
Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights
Basic knowledge of Photoshop
