SAYDS is a non-profit organization that seeks to make social change initiatives viable, highly successful and deeply transformative for young people that are solving complex social problems. We equip them with the systems thinking skills required to solve wicked problems and empower them to be system leaders in their spheres of influence.
To equip youth with systems thinking skills for creating and implementing effective solutions for holistic social change.
Our Approach: We use design thinking, various research methods, and science of learning concepts to identify and design methods/strategies that can be used to effectively equip youth with practical skills for identifying wicked problems (also known as complex problems), examining them deeply, and effectively solving them using system thinking skills
How we do it
Young people need to be treated as a resource, rather than a resource burden. With the rapidly increasing youth demographic in some parts of the world, concerns have been raised over conditions getting worse: increased unemployment, increased crime, impoverished healthcare. Young people are seen as adding to the problem as opposed to providing solutions for this generation and the next. We see the youth as a huge, untapped and undervalued reservoir of brilliant innovations and solutions.
ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT SOCIAL CHANCE?
SAYDS is currently recruiting Kenyan youth for the inaugural SAYDS Fellowship. Fellows will have the chance to acquire systems thinking skills and tackle a complex problems in their local community with a group of other dedicated young people.
