The JKUAT Industrial Park Limited is a company incorporated as a private limited company by the Registrar of Companies in 2017 and is wholly owned by Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). It is charged with the responsibility of promoting the collaboration between the University, Government, and the private sector with the aim of facilitating the growth and development of knowledge and technology based enterprises in line with the Kenya Vision 2030.
The Park is inviting applications from qualified persons to fill the following positions:
a. Develop and deliver business and marketing strategies for organization’s growth.
b. Drive increased revenue and profit to achieve the organization`s ambitious growth.
c. Researching and analyzing the market to find out better business opportunities
d. Collaborating and making business deals that are beneficial to the organization in the long run
e. Maintaining continuous client relationships through client follow-up and responding to their queries.
f. Determine annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results.
g. Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas.
h. Developing field sales action plans.
i. Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
a. Bachelor’s Degree in a business or marketing-related field
b. At least three (3) years’ experience working in a business development role in an electronic organization
c. Excellent co-ordination and interpersonal skills
d. Proficiency in MS Office and ICT Skills
e. Team player
f. Proven track record of business development, marketing and communication
a. Present products to prospective clients
b. Remain in frequent contact with the clients to understand their needs
c. Respond to complaints and resolve issues aiming to customer contentment and the preservation of the company’s reputation
d. Negotiate agreements and keep records of sales and data
e. Cold-calling, generating new leads and prospecting accounts.
f. Closing customer contracts and generating new sales.
g. Analyzing consumer needs and developing innovative solutions.
h. Preparation of monthly client financial reports
i. Helping in identifying and locating areas of sales opportunities in the market
j. Locating the demand for new product and services offered by the company in the market
k. Seeking out new promotional opportunities for company products
l. Conducting trade fairs, corporate events and conferences
a. Bachelor’s Degree in either business administration, sales, marketing, finance or related field from a reputable institution
b. Proven experience as an Account/Sales Representative or in other sales/customer service role
c. Knowledge of market research, sales and negotiating principles
d. Outstanding knowledge of MS Office
e. Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build relationships
f. A business acumen
g. Enthusiastic and passionate
h. Proven work ethic matched with the utmost integrity
i. Goal oriented: a self-starter with real initiative
a. Generation, analysis, reviewing and communication of financial data that reflects actual finance performance against the budget
b. Preparation of quarterly and annual entries and filings
c. Preparation of accounting records, research of transactions and reports
d. Perform regular and recurring accounting functions that require professional competence
e. Document accounting procedures and transactions that will later be used for financial management procedures and auditing
f. Prepare tax schedules and apply basic knowledge of tax rules to assist in tax reports and returns
g. Apply the financial policies and procedures of the company
h. Research and collect data to be used in transactions
i. Take part in the annual operating budgeting process, analysis and review of annual operating budget proposals
j. Advising the management about financial issues which are meant to encourage savings of the company
k. Advising the management regarding matters of future investments, different types of tax plans and on other types of financial matters
a. Bachelor’s Degree in either Finance or Accounting or related field or be a CPA/ACCA qualified holder
b. Must have at least two (2) years knowledge of the project structure in a client/consultant business environment.
c. Must be conversant with Accounting packages
d. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
e. Have cost accounting, financial and management accounting skills
f. Have a working knowledge of either QuickBooks, Sage Pastel or an ERP System
g. Very proficient in Microsoft office
h. Able to work cohesively in a team
